Hull Daily Mail Launches E-Petition in Battle for Brough

The Hull Daily Mail has launched an e-petition on the Government’s DirectGov website with the aim of getting the job cuts at BAE’s site at Brough debated in Parliament.

The announcement by BAE of the job cuts prompted the Mail to photograph over 700 of the site’s workers outside the factory gates.

The picture was featured as a special wraparound last week, and the image has now been adopted as a banner and printed as a t-shirt by those campaigning for a rethink on the planned redundancies at the plant.

According to the Mail’s deputy editor Paul Hartley, the campaign is gathering momentum, with over 3,000 signatures appearing a day on the e-petition since it went live on Monday this week.
