Adfast Launches Local Portals
AdFast is to launch a network of branded local portals designed to encourage local clients to use the NS artwork delivery system as well as national advertisers.
Following a trial by Northcliffe in Nottingham, local media publishers across the UK can now request that free customised AdFast portals be created for towns or cities served by their titles.
The local portals will only provide access to newspapers in the area they serve as opposed to the national internet-based AdFast database which contains details for local titles across the UK.
Accessible from a newspaper’s website, a local portal can feature branding of the town, city or county it serves, or that of the publisher.
AdFast general manager Rob Fogwill said: “For many pre-press houses, receiving files from local clients who only send a few files every year provides problems as many arrive via email with all the well-known issues this can bring.
“The intention with the local AdFast portals is to ensure that all of a publisher’s local clients can reap the benefits of the system which removes the complications from artwork delivery.”
AdFast facilitates the delivery of advertising artwork to local media titles by ensuring that it is delivered to the right production contact and in the correct format to go straight onto a newspaper page.
It also tracks and logs all file transfers so an archive of ads sent through the system can be accessed by publishers.
Handling the majority of national advertising campaigns in local media, it is currently mainly used by large London-based media agencies sending artwork to a large number of titles across the UK.
The new local portals are free for clients to use and the publisher is billed by usage only.
