Worcester News Persuades Courts to Name Riot Incitement Teen

The Worcester News successfully applied for reporting restrictions to be lifted to name a 16-year-old charged with inciting theft and criminal damage for Facebook comments encouraging riots in the town.

Last week, the NS highlighted Crown Prosecution Service guidance on lifting reporting restrictions in cases involving youths who are convicted, including cases involving serious public disorder.

The NS is the voice of Britain’s local media, the UK’s most popular print medium. It represents 1,100 newspapers, 1,600 websites and other print, digital and broadcast channels.
