Media Planners Given Inside Track on Cambridge News

Five young media planners were given the inside track on local media when the wanted ads experience visited the Cambridge News

Planners from media agencies Initiative, AMS, OMD and MPG attended the trip last Thursday organised by the NS.

They were welcomed by Graham Ayres, managing director of Cambridge Newspapers, before Paul Brackley, Cambridge News editor, gave a presentation followed by question and answer session.

The group was also given a tour of the publisher’s print production.

Rachel Tyldesley, account executive, AMS, said: “The Cambridge experience really highlighted the importance and loyal relationship the community have with their local paper.

“The trip changed my perceptions of how effective the local press is and moving forward this is something I will bear in mind when planning.”

Run by the NS, the wanted ads experience trips gives London media agencies a unique opportunity to see the relationship local media has with communities in the regions.
