The latest release of the Top 20 shows that Total Weekly
Circulation for all local and regional papers is approximately 50.5
million.
The Metro titles are included under the publisher responsible
for distribution and local advertising sales.
There have been a number of positional changes since 1 July
2009 but all of the previous top 20 publishers remain in the top
20.
The Top 20 regional press publishers account for 87% of all
regional press titles and 97% of total weekly circulation.
As of the 1 January 2010 there are now 87 regional press
publishers producing a total of 1,212 titles, a drop of 59 titles
than in January 2009. This group contains 38 publishers producing
just one title.
