NS to Hold Local Media Insight Day for Agencies
Twelve delegates from media agencies Walker Media, OMD, PHD and Mindshare are to attend the next Local Media Insight Day on 26 February.
Held at the NS, the insight days aim to give media planners with up to a year’s experience an overview of the local media industry.
NS staff give presentations on JICREG, including Locally Connected, the Media Portfolio Database, Featurelink, and media research such as the wanted ads studies and Local Matters.
Last year, the NS launched the Brand Managers’ Workshop sessions which received excellent feedback from delegates from some of the UK’s top national advertisers.
Through these sessions and the Insight Days, the NS explained the power of local media to more than 145 representatives from media and creative agencies and advertisers in 2009.
A programme for both the Insight Days and the Brand Managers’ Workshops in 2010 is currently being drawn up by the NS.
NS marketing director Robert Ray said: “Training newcomers in the advertising and marketing industry is an important role for the NS marketing department.
“Our activities in this area provide invaluable information about local media to people who will go on to make important decisions about how their clients should communciate effectively with consumers.
“Our goal is to educate and create a clear understanding of the strategic role of local newspapers and their associated media channels.”
