Employment & Human Resources
With employment law proving ever more complex, the Employment Affairs Team offers an advisory service to managers and HR personnel aimed at providing tailored legal advice to individual employment problems.
The employment affairs team also lobby to represent members' views on proposed employment legislation. It lobbies directly to government or through its membership of the specialist employment committee at the CBI.
The team is on hand during office hours to give on the spot employment advice on a whole range of issues from the new grievance and disciplinary procedures, managing absence, discrimination legislation, handling redundancies, entitlements under the Working Time Regulations, to dismissal and more.
We advise on current and future legislation, updating policies and procedures to ensure statutory compliance, and advice on good HR and employment practice.
We strive to build strong relationships with HR personnel and managers to ensure that we are in a position to deliver fast, clear, sound advice and contribute to good employment practice development over the long term.
The Employment Affairs team also provides customised seminars on a range of topics including common employee complaints, performance appraisals, job descriptions, discrimination law, unfair dismissal, family-related leave, handling redundancies, harassment and bullying, health and safety, and managing absence.
