Employment tribunal representation
Due to the growth in tribunal claims as a result of an increasing body of regulations, employers will at some time or other face tribunal claims from aggrieved employees. Common complaints are that the tribunal service is too adversarial, time-consuming, and costly. Small employers, without dedicated HR personnel, can particularly feel pressurised into settling claims even where they are likely to win, due to the costs and loss of working time defending a claim.
The PERA Employment Affairs team has a particular knowledge and experience of the industry which ensures that it is uniquely placed to assist with the management and conduct of a tribunal claim, or, where appropriate, informal workplace dispute resolution.
Included in the service is the following
- Assisting/handling disciplinary hearings
- Drafting contractual terms and agreements
- Drafting and auditing policies and procedures
- Research assistance for tribunal preparation
- Conducting tribunal proceedings
- Negotiating settlements
- Design and implementation of appraisal schemes
Training
Training is provided on a vast number of topics on HR and employment issues such as dispute resolution, appraisal schemes, managing sickness and absence.
