Take Part

Local and regional newspaper editors across the UK are invited to take part in this year’s Local Newspaper Week (9 to 15 May).

This year, the Week aims to highlight how local newspapers act as champion of their communities, galvanising their readers into action, supporting local businesses, and taking pride in their local area.

This could mean highlighting how local papers help people get involved with local clubs, groups or societies, volunteer for charities, or support other good causes, as well as showing how your newspapers support new entrepreneurs and help to build stronger local businesses – the engine of growth for the local economy.

Every year, hundreds of editors take part in Local Newspaper Week by running news stories, features or supplements which illustrate their own take on the unique role played by local papers in their communities.

Through this website, the NS will be making graphics, articles by contributors, and other materials available for editors to download and use in their titles during the Week.
